Lieutenant General Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Deputy Minister of Public Security, presided over the event.
Senior Colonel Tran Viet Kieu, Director of the Institute of Criminal Sciences, briefed the delegates on results of the implementation of the two directives over the past time.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc asked the institute to coordinate closely with relevant units to effectively implement the Law on Judicial Expertise and related decrees and circulars; improve the quality of preliminary assessment of traces of fingerprints and documents, as well as raise its capacity to quickly detect and preliminarily evaluate leftover narcotic materials at the scene.

The institute should cooperate with public security schools and units to continuously build capacity of its cadres, and advise the MPS leadership on consolidating the organization, apparatus, functions and tasks of the criminal techniques force from the ministry level to the provincial and district level.
At the event, the Director of the Criminal Sciences Institute presented certificates of merit to various police teams with outstanding achievements in implementing the two directives.
