Dak Lak police review task performance in 2020

PSNews - The Dak Lak provincial police held a meeting on December 16 to review their task performance in 2020 and roll out their working plan for 2021.Major General Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Deputy Minister of Public Security attended and delivered a keynote speech at the meeting.

In 2020, the police of Dak Lak province have taken drastic measures to fight and handle crimes of all kinds, law violations, and social evils. 

Particularly, the local police force has destroyed several criminal gangs, including those involved in property theft, “black credit”, and online gambling. Additionally, large drug trafficking rings and local hotspots of illicit drug trade and use were eradicated with numerous offenders arrested.

Last year, the Dak Lak police effectively promoted administrative reforms to better serve the people. The provincial police’s administrative reform index ranked the 5th among other public security units and agencies nationwide.

Over the past time, the local police also proactively collected and updated residence information of local people for the building of the national database on population.

So far, the Dak Lak provincial police have posted more than 860 commissioned policemen to all 152 communes in the province, contributing to reducing law violations and ensuring security at the grassroots level.

Addressing the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc praised the good working results achieved by the police of Dak Lak province in 2020.

The Deputy Minister asked the provincial police to effectively draw up plans to crack down on crimes, especially organized crimes, contributing to maintaining a peaceful and safe environment for the people.

The Deputy Minister also urged the provincial police to improve the quality of the “All people protect the national security” movement with more concrete and practical contents.

Particularly, the police of Dak Lak province should direct its specialized sub-units and the police of districts and towns to effectively deploy intensive campaigns to suppress crimes, ensure traffic safety, and maintain security before, during, and after the 2021 Lunar New Year festival (Tet).

* Earlier on the same day, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc and the delegation of the Ministry of Public Security worked with police officers and soldiers of Hoa Thang commune, Buon Ma Thuot city to review the result of the building of the national database on the population project in the locality.
