Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam checks security work for 2019 UN Day of Vesak

PSNews - Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam, Deputy Minister of Public Security on May 9 inspected security work at the Tam Chuc Buddhist Culture Center in Kim Bang district, Ha Nam province – the place to host the UN Day of Vesak 2019.

During the working mission, Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam, who is also the Head of the Steering Board for Ensuring Public Security and Order for the UN Day of Vesak 2019 in Vietnam, made a field trip around the Tam Chuc Buddhist Culture Center and worked with forces responsible for security for the upcoming event.

Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam appreciated the Ha Nam Provincial Police and other functional units under the Ministry of Public Security for their readiness in ensuring security, safety and order for the UN Day of Vesak 2019.

The Deputy Minister of Public Security then asked the Ha Nam Provincial Police to further cooperate with relevant units under the Ministry of Public Security to deploy sufficient means and forces to the designated places, proactively grasp the situation and be ready to defeat any attempts of hostile forces.

He urged the local police force to ensure traffic order and safety, and draw up plans on fire prevention and fighting during the event while exerting all-out effort to ensure absolute safety and security for all activities during the UN Day of Vesak 2019.

The UN Day of Vesak 2019, themed “Buddhist Approach to Global Leadership and Shared Responsibilities for Sustainable Societies” will take place at the Tam Chuc Buddhist Culture Center in Ha Nam with the participation of some 1,500 international delegates, including state leaders, high-ranking officials and religious dignitaries of more than 100 countries and territories as well as some 10,000 Vietnamese delegates.

This is the third time the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha has hosted an edition of Vesak, contributing to promoting the position of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and affirming the open policy on religions of the Party and State of Vietnam as well as promoting the images of Ha Nam and Vietnam.

Accordingly, the Public Security Forces will be responsible for ensuring security, safety and order for the event, facilitating the exit and entry of foreign delegates participating in the events.
