Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong check task performance of Nam Dinh police

PSNews - Senior Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong, Deputy Minister of Public Security, on December 12, led an inspection team to check task performance of the Nam Dinh Provincial Police Department.

According to a report delivered at the working session between the inspection team and the Nam Dinh Provincial Police, in 2019, the local police force opened a number of campaigns against crimes and gained fruitful results.

Particularly, it handled 95.58% of the crime denunciations and reports, successfully investigated 535 criminal cases equivalent to 89.61% of the total number, of which 100% of the serious and extremely serous cases were handled without any mistakes or wrongdoings in judicial activities. In the year, the number of criminal cases reduced by 4.94% compared to the same period last year.

In terms of drug-related crime, the Nam Dinh Police discovered 1,613 cases arrested 1,748 suspects relating to drug trafficking and illicit drug use, and seized 110 bars of heroin, 19,000 tablets of methamphetamine. 

They also investigated five economic-related crime cases returning VND 20 billion of wrongdoing to the State Budget. Especially, the police forces at the grassroots level have been strengthened when all communes of the province have had professional police officers.

Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong spoke highly of Nam Dinh Police’s high achievements in 2019. Regarding to future missions of the local police, Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong suggested all police officers should seriously observe the laws while performing their duties.

Deputy Minister Vuong also asked the Nam Dinh Police to implement drastically and effectively the plans to suppress crimes and maintain public security and order throughout the province as The New Year is coming and Party congress at all levels are due to be held soon.

In addition, Nam Dinh should pay special attention to strengthening and improving the qualifications of officers in charge of the communal police posts so that the grassroots level security and social order situation would be ensured.
