Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc chairs meeting of leaders of provinces and cities in central Vietnam

Major General Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Deputy Minister of Public Security, on May 28 chaired a meeting in Dong Hoi city (Quang Binh province) between the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security and the police of provinces and cities in the Central region.

At the meeting, representatives from various professional departments of the Ministry of Public Security briefed the delegates on the results, difficulties and shortcomings in implementing the three projects launched the Ministry of Public Security at the localities, including: the National Data on Population project, the project on posting professional police officers to communes, and the project on mobilizing people to surrender weapons, explosives and combat gears to the authorities.

Leaders of Provincial Police Departments in the central region and other delegates then discussed solutions to difficulties and obstacles in the implementation of the above projects.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Ngoc requested the provincial police to mobilize their forces to effectively complete the projects as scheduled.

Particularly, the local police forces should heighten the local people’s awareness of law observance for while mobilizing them to voluntarily surrender illegal-stored weapons, explosives, and combat gears to the authorities. They should also regularly inspect and strictly control the use and maintenance of people who are permitted to use combat gears, weapons, and explosives.

On this occasion, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc praised and awarded several units under the Quang Binh Provincial Police Department who have successfully investigated a special criminal case, arrested three people involved and seized over 200kg of explosives.

* On May 29, the Quang Binh Provincial Police Department in May 29 held a meeting to honor good examples in the emulation movement “For Homeland Security” in the period of 2015-2020. The meeting saw the presence of Major General Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Deputy Minister of Public Security, Mr. Tran Thang, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Tran Cong Thuat, Chairman of the Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee.

Over the past five years, the Quang Binh Provincial Police Department have promoted the emulation movement “For Homeland Security” in various forms with creative contents in line with other emulation movements and major campaigns launched by the Party, the Ministry of Public Security and the local authorities.

Over the past years, the Quang Binh Provincial Police Department has successfully investigated 90.39% of the criminal cases per year, of which 99.1% of serious cases has been solved. The local police also arrested 267 criminals and eliminated 89 inter-provincial and cross-border drug-related rings.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc and Mr. Tran Cong Thuat praised the achievements obtained by police officers and soldiers of the Quang Binh police over the past years. 

Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc requested the Quang Binh Provincial Police Department to pay due attention to further promote the emulation movement "For Homeland Security" in the coming time.

He also urged the Quang Binh Provincial Police Party Committee and the leaders of the Provincial Police Department to direct their sub-units to strictly follow the resolutions and directions of the Party, the State, the Ministry of Public Security, the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee on ensuring security and order.
