Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc works with Northern mountainous provincial police.

Major General Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Deputy Minister of Public Security, on June 9 chaired a meeting with leaders of the Provincial Police Departments of the Northern mountainous provinces of Lao Cai, Son La, Dien Bien, Lai Chau, and Ha Giang.

At the meeting, the representatives from specialized departments  under the Ministry of Public Security briefed the delegates on achievements and challenges in implementing the three major projects: the National Database on Population Project, the Comprehensive Plan to control crimes and strengthen the management of weapons, explosive materials and combat gears, and the Plan to reinforce the communal police force in the five mountainous provinces of Lao Cai, Son La, Dien Bien, Lai Chau, and Ha Giang.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc highly appreciated the initial fruitful results achieved by the five provinces’ police forces in the implementation of the three major projects.

The deputy minister emphasized that the five mountainous provinces are home to various ethnic minorities with different customs and cultural practices as well as of difficult terrains so the local police should work harder to meet the progresses of the projects. 

Leaders of the provincial police departments should assign specific tasks to their officers in charge of each field, regularly check the results of their implementation and reward the ones with outstanding performances.

They should also  IT personnel working with the national data of population system should be taken into account as well.

Regarding the restrict management of weapons and explosive materials, Deputy Minister Ngoc requested that the local police should open various campaigns with forms and contents suitable for particular local ethnic and cultural features to persuade the entire population not to store and use illegal weapons, explosives and combat gears.

Deputy Minister Ngoc asked the provincial police departments to soon complete the project to post while they should appoint well-trained officers to key positions of the communal police posts.
