Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh works with Dong Thap police

PSNews - Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Deputy Minister of Public Security on July 7 had a meeting with the Dong Thap Provincial Police Department to review its task performance in the first half of 2020 and its preparation for the provincial police Party Congress.

At the meeting, Senior Colonel Nguyen Van Hieu, Director of the Dong Thap Provincial Police Department briefed the deputy minister and delegates on the results of the local police in the first six months of 2020, stating that the Dong Thap police have closely followed its working plans, cooperated with relevant local agencies to successfully maintain security and social order in the locality.

The security and social order situation has maintained without any hotspots of crime. The rate of successful investigation of the criminal cases has reached 93.5%.

Its missions of Party building and force building have achieved many important results. In addition, the Dong Thap police have posted professional police officers to hold the key positions in all communes and townships in the province.

Regarding the preparation of the Party Congress of the provincial police Party organization, its Party Committee has closely followed the guidelines of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Provincial Party Committee.

At the moment, all the police units under the provincial police department and district police stations have organized their Party Congresses for the 2020-2025 term. 

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh praised the achievements of the Dong Thap police forces. 

He highly appreciated the draft documents to be submitted to the Party Congress of the provincial police, highlighting that they have generalized the role of the Party Committee of the provincial police in the 2020-25 term in leading the local police forces to perform their tasks as well as proposed good approaches to the Party organization of the provincial police to overcome the current shortcomings and limitations in the next term.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh also underlined the need to ensure security and social order before, during and after the Party congress.
