Forensic Science Institute maps the force’s tasks in 2022

The Forensic Science Institute (FSI) under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) organized a meeting on January 4 to deploy the 2022 work plan of the forensic science force.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security, attended and delivered a keynote speech at the event.

In 2021, the forensic science force has received and processed 175,595 requests for forensic assessment from various agencies under the MPS.

The force also conducted crime scene investigations for more than 72,000 criminal cases and carried out forensic assessments for some 86,000 criminal cases, contributing to the successful investigation of major cases.

For their achievements, the forensic science force was awarded many noble awards in the emulation movement for national security in 2021. Particularly, the FSI and its branch in Ho Chi Minh City were awarded the Emulation Flags of the MPS.

Under the authority of the Prime Minister, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc presents the Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister to Senior Lieutenant Colonel Dang Van Doan, Deputy Director of the FSI.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc praised the achievements of the forensic science force over the past year.

Regarding their tasks in the coming time, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc requested the FSI  to continue closely following the directions of the Government, the National Assembly, leaders of the MPS on forensic science while advising the leaders of the MPS on building and improving the policies, laws, and standard procedures for forensic activities.

Under the authority of the MPS leaders, Major General Tran Viet Kieu presents the Certificate of Merit from the MPS to individuals and teams with outstanding achievements.

Deputy Minister Ngoc also urged the unit to promote the research, transfer, application and development of scientific and technological advances in performing their tasks, and working out strategies to develop high-quality human resources for the forensic science force.

At the event, under the authority of the Prime Minister, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc presented the Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister to Senior Lieutenant Colonel Dang Van Doan, Deputy Director of the FSI.
