Ha Giang Police help locals overcomes flooding consequences

PSNews – The Ha Giang Provincial Police on last Sartuday cooperated with organizations and individuals to visit, encourage and present gifts to households hit by the recent flooding.

Accordingly, units under the Ha Giang Provincial Police have mobilized organizations and individuals to visit, encourage and present 2.5 million VND of gifts to each household hard hit by the recent flooding in Lung Tam commune, Quan Ba district, Ha Giang province.

The delegation offered 4.5 million VND to families with dead people during the recent flooding.

Meanwhile, the delegation also presented 9 households with gifts worth 2 million VND each in Cao Bo, Minh Tan commune, Vi Xuyen district, Ha Giang province.

On the same day, the Youth Union of the Ha Giang Provincial Police in collaboration with the Youth Union of the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of Public Security visited and presented 600 kg of rice, 1,000 books, and 400 sets of clothes to needy families and students in Quang Ngan commune, Vi Xuyen district.

The young security officers also helped local overcome consequences of the recent flooding. They cleaned up the surroundings and repaired damaged houses.

Recent torrential rains and floods lasting from June 22-27 caused severe losses of human lives and property in Ha Giang province.According to statistics from the Ha Giang provincial Steering Board of Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue, 16 houses have collapsed, 22 house have been swept away, while nearly 1400 houses have been submerged in floods

In addition, 227ha of subsidiary crops and more than 140ha of corn and rice have been inundated by floodwater. Meanwhile, 10 schools in Quan Ba and Vi Xuyen districts and Ha Giang city were damaged seriously, along with hundreds social works and many roads. Total losses are estimated at 122 billion VND (5.36 million USD).
