HCMC Police celebrate 80th Anniversary of People’s Security Force

The Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) Police Department, on Wednesday afternoon, hosted a grand ceremony to mark the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the People’s Security Force.

The event was presided over by Director of the HCMC Police Department Lieutenant General Mai Hoang, a holder of the "Hero of the People's Armed Forces" title.

The ceremony drew high-ranking delegates, including leaders from the HCMC Party Committee and the HCMC People’s Committee, representatives from the Ministry of Public Security’s Office and southern public security branches, alongside public security academy executives, and veteran security officers of various generations.

Delivering an inspiring keynote address to the force, Lieutenant General Mai Hoang looked back on the glorious 80-year history of the People’s Security Force built up by security officers, who had contributed significantly to the HCMC Police Force’s journey of growth, combat and resilience.

He emphasized that, as the city and the nation enter a new era of peaceful reform and international integration, the HCMC Security Force should continue to uphold its heroic legacy. He reaffirmed the force’s absolute loyalty to the Party and unwavering devotion to the public, describing it as a "shield and sword" safeguarding the Party, the State and the people, while driving the city's socio-economic development.

In recognition of their exceptional contributions to public order and national security, numerous officers and units within the HCMC Security Force have been honored over the past decades by the Party and State with the "Hero of the People's Armed Forces" title and other prestigious medals.

On behalf of the entire HCMC Police Department, General Hoang expressed profound gratitude to the generations of leaders, officers and soldiers of the HCMC Security Force who had braved countless hardships and made ultimate sacrifices for national independence, peace and public happiness.

Pledging to honor the proud legacy built by their predecessors, the current generation of HCMC security and police officers vowed to maintain their revolutionary traditions and steadfast resolve, holding professional honor as their highest virtue. The HCMC Police Force is committed to overcoming all challenges to serve the nation and its citizens, cementing its role in contributing to the development ò the city, and shaping a prosperous, strong and thriving Vietnam.
