Investigation police sector reviews task performance in the first half of 2019

The Police Investigation Agency under the Ministry of Public Security on June 21 held a conference to review the sector’s task performance in the first half of 2019.

The event, taking place in Nghe An province, was chaired by Senior Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong, Deputy Minister of Public Security and Head of the Police Investigation Agency under the Ministry of Public Security.

According to reports at the event, in the first half of 2019, the investigation police force across the country has taken new and active operational measures to attack criminals. The procedures for criminal investigation and handling have been conducted exactly under the laws.

Statistics show that the Police Investigation Agency and its subordinates at all level have received about 64,000 pieces of valuable information and reports on crimes from the people, investigated nearly 47,500 cases with more than 45,700 involved suspects arrested.

The police forces in the first half of 2019 have successfully persuaded 2,658 wanted fugitives to give up themselves to the police while achieving good results of international cooperation in hunting fugitives.

Addressing the event, Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong applauded the efforts of the investigation police force in recent times, saying their achievements greatly contributed to ensuring security and order nationwide.

Senior Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong also urged the force to accelerate the investigation process in the upcoming time and also pointed out some limitations and difficulties of the force in fulfilling their tasks in the first half of 2019.

According to the Deputy Minister of Public Security, the investigation police force should actively grasp the situation and predict situational developments, strive to control crimes, especially organized crime, crime with the use of weapons, crime against children, economic crime, corruption and drug-related crime.
