Minister To Lam praises two policemen for their bravery

PSNews - General To Lam, Member of the Politburo and Minister of Public Security, on September 16 sent Letters of Condolences to the families of Major Sergeant Nguyen Van Manh and non-commissioned policeman Quang Van Xom, who were killed while performing their duties.

According to reports to leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, while Sergeant Nguyen Van Manh (born in 1997, a mobile police soldier of Bac Giang provincial police) and his comrades were sent on September 14to a mobile traffic checkpoint at Noi Hoang commune (Yen Dung district, Bac Giang province) on the Hanoi-Bac Giang Highway. 

He was suddenly hit to death by a pick-up truck while he was trying to stop the truck suspected of carrying smuggled goods.

On the same day in Son La, Quang Van Xom born in 1992, a non-commissioned policeman of Linh Luong village, Chieng Pac commune, Thuan Chau district, Son La province) was deadly stabbed by suspects in trafficking illicit drugs while he and his comrades were chasing them.

In the Letters of Condolences, on behalf of the Public Security CentralParty Committee and the Ministry of Public Security, Minister To Lam praises the bravery of the two policemen in the fight against crimes, extends condolences and shows his sympathy toward the two families.

Minister To Lam asked the provincial police of Bac Giang and Son La, the Department of Organization and Personnel, the Department of Party and Political Work under the Ministry of Public Security to visit and support the families of the deceased policemen. 

Additionally, he requested the Bac Giang and Son La provincial police to increase measures to ensure safety for the people and on-duty officers involved in the fight against crimes and law violations.

Minister To Lam also requested the police of the two provinces, in coordination with other law enforcement agencies, to urgently investigate and prosecute offenders in the two cases in accordance with the laws.
