Minister To Lam works with police force in Quang Ninh’s Mong Cai

PSNews – General To Lam, Politburo member, Minister of Public Security on August 8 led a high-ranking delegation of the Ministry of Public Security to work with the Mong Cai City Police Sub-department.

General To Lam, Politburo member, Minister of Public Security on August 8 led a high-ranking delegation of the Ministry of Public Security to work with the Mong Cai City Police Sub-department and visit the Tra Co Border Guard Station, Mong Cai Border Gate Guard Station (Bac Luan I, II) in Quang Ninh province.

The delegation was accompanied by Deputy Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People Council Nguyen Xuan Ky, and Secretary of the Mong Cai Municipal Party Committee Le Van Anh.

Reports at the working session with the Mong Cai City Police read that the city has great potential for economic development, tourism, an important position in national defense and security.

Mong Cai, as a modern international border city, has an area of more than 500 km2, a land and sea borderline of nearly 79 km land a population of over 100,000 people. The city welcomes a large number of tourists every year. It has drawn much foreign investment and enjoyed a sharp rise in both imports and exports in recent years.

Thanks to the sound leadership of the Ministry of Public Security, the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee and People’s Committee as well as great support from local agencies and people, the Mong Cai City Police have successfully fulfilled all assigned tasks.

The local police thoroughly grasped the situation, effectively advised local Party committees at all levels in the province to deal with issues of public security and order from the grassroots level, contributing to promoting the city’s socio-economic development.

The city’s police force has also coordinated closely with relevant forces to maintain order security at sea and on islands while well performing foreign residence management.

Addressing the working session, General To Lam recognized and praised achievements of the Mong Cai City Police in recent times.

General To Lam pointed out some complex potential factors that could adversely affect the security situation in the area, and urged the Mong Cai City Police to focus on grasping the situation and foreseeing situational developments, and actively advise local authorities on solutions to security and order issues.

The Minister of Public Security also asked the Mong Cai City Police to continue well managing residence of foreigners and to take effective measures to deal with issues of security and order at the grassroots level.

Regarding the criminal situation in the city, Minister To Lam requested the Mong Cai City Police to launch campaigns to suppress crimes, especially "black credit" crime and economic crime.

* Earlier the same day, General To Lam and the delegation visited and worked with the Tra Co Border Guard Station, Mong Cai Border Gate Guard Station (Bac Luan I, II) and Border Land-marker No.0 Post.

At the meetings, Minister To Lam appreciated the achievements that Border Guard forces have achieved in recent times.

The Minister of Public Security expressed delight at the good cooperation between the police force and the border guard force in Quang Ninh Province.
