Ministry of Public Security marks 77 years of the People's Public Security Forces

The Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security held a meeting, on August 16 in Hanoi, to celebrate the 77th founding anniversary of the People's Public Security Forces (August 19, 1945) and 17 years of the All People's National Security Protection Festival (August 19, 2005).

Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Public Security Central Party Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To chaired the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To affirmed that, during the 77-year history, the People's Public Security Forces constantly grew up in all aspects, beautified their heroic and indomitable tradition, are always absolutely loyal to the Party and the people, while resolutely fighting enemies for national independence and freedom, sovereignty, national security and social order and safety.

Over the 77 years, the Public Security Forces have obtained various great achievements and feats of arms, making an important contribution to the cause of national liberation, building and defending the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam.

In today’s peacetime, the Public Security Forces still face a wide range of difficulties, hardships and dangers to preserve peace and happiness of the people.

Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To presents the 40-year and 30-year Party membership badges to Party members of the Public Security Central Party Committee.

In addition to dangers in the fight against all kinds of crime to safeguard national security and maintain public order and safety, the Public Security Forces take the lead and play the core role in disaster relief and rescue missions, supporting people to prevent natural disasters, saving people from floods, storms, landslides, fire incidents.

Since 1975, 1,061 public security officers have laid down their lives and 2,021 others have been injured while performing their duties.

The Ministry of Public Security with strong resolve is further implementing the policy of "Elite ministry, strong provincial police, comprehensive district police, communal police close to grassroots".

Under the authority of the State President, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To awards the “Fatherland Protection” Order of all grades to units and officers for their outstanding achievements in the implementation of the National Population Database Project and the Chip-based ID Card Project, and COVID-19 prevention and control.

So far, commissioned police officers have been deployed to 100% of communes and townships nationwide, and the project has been applauded by the Party, State, Government, ministries, branches, local authorities, and people.

Meanwhile, the movement of “All people protecting national security” has spread, effective security models have been replicated in localities, contributing to maintaining order and security at the grassroots-level, and reducing the crime rate by 9.94% over the same period in 2021.

On behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee, the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To expressed his gratitude and extended best wishes to former leaders of the Ministry, generals and senior officers of the People's Public Security Forces who had always supported the forces and contributed valuable ideas to the cause of protecting national security, ensuring public order and safety, and building the People's Public Security Forces.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To presented the 40-year Party Membership Badge and the 30-year Party Membership Badge to several Party members of the Public Security Central Party Committee.

Under the authoriy of the State President, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To awarded the Second and Third Class “Fatherland Protection” Orders to units and officers for their outstanding achievements in the implementation of the National Population Database Project, Chip-based ID Card Project, and COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control.
