Ministry of Public Security meets with reputable persons of Lai Chau province

PSNews - The Ministry of Public Security on August 21 had a meeting with reputable persons of the ethnic minority communities of Lai Chau province.

Major General Luong Ngoc Duong, member of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Deputy Director of the Department for "All people protecting national security" Movement, on behalf of the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security, received the delegation.

The meeting also saw the participation of Major General Tran Cong Truong, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Public Security Office; Senior Colonel Pham Quang Khai, Deputy Director of the Department for Information and Communications of the Public Security Forces; and representatives of relevant units under the Ministry of Public Security.

The delegation consisted of 50 reputable persons from 7 ethnic minority groups, representing the 20 ethnic minorities of Lai Chau province. Prior to the visit to the Ministry of Public Security, the delegation had had a meeting with leaders of the National Assembly, and made field trips to some of Northern provinces.

At the meeting, Deputy Director of the Lai Chau Provincial Police Department, Senior Colonel Bui Gia Luot briefed the delegates on the achievements made by reputable persons of the ethnic minority communities in the provincial movement of “All people protecting national security.”

He revealed that Lai Chau province is home to 20 ethnic groups. Over the past years, local ethnic minority groups in Lai Chau province have always united in overcoming difficulties in life and work, as well as participated actively in local patriotic emulation movements, contributing to the cause of renovation and development of the country.

The Deputy Director of the Lai Chau Provincial Police Department then revealed that Lai Chau province’s reputable persons of the ethnic minority communities in recent times have proved their leading role in developing local economy and maintaining local security and order. They also actively engaged in fighting plots of hostile forces and unlawful missionary activities.

He also emphasized that reputable persons of the ethnic minority communities of Lai Chau province also actively participated in improving material and spiritual lives of local people and promoting ethnic cultural values.

On behalf of the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security Major General Luong Ngoc Duong spoke highly of the great achievements attained by the Lai Chau province’s people in general and reputable persons of the ethnic minority communities in particular.

He stressed that the national renewal process initiated and led by the Party has achieved many important achievements, but the country is still facing many difficulties and challenges. So, he suggested Lai Chau province’s reputable persons should always put on the alert against plots of hostile forces, contributing to ensuring security in the region.

Major General Luong Ngoc Duong hoped, in the coming time, the reputable persons of ethnic minorities of Lai Chau province will continue cementing solidarity among all ethnic minorities while actively mobilizing all people to implement the guidelines and policies of the Party and the State.
