Ministry of Public Security, Mongolia’s National Security Council promote cooperation

PSNews – Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Minister of Public Security and representatives of the Ministry of Public Security held talks with a delegation of Mongolia’s National Security Council led by its Secretary Amarjargal Gansukh, on April 2, in Hanoi.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister To Lam affirmed that, over the past, the traditional relations between Vietnam and Mongolia have been continuously strengthened and developed; and at the same time, the cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the National Security Council of Mongolia in particular has also achieved important outcomes.

Specifically, the two sides reached an agreement on crime prevention and fight, creating a legal corridor for cooperation activities between the two countries in this field, such as sharing of experiences in preventing terrorist activities by controlling immigration, financial activities and religious extremism as well as preventing and fighting drug crimes.

He also suggested the two sides consider establishing a cooperation mechanism in the field of security to exchange information of common concern, and a coordination mechanism to ensure security for visiting delegations, representative diplomatic offices, diplomats and citizens of the two countries.

Additionally, the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the National Security Council of Mongolia should continuously promote cooperation at multilateral institutions, which both countries are members of, such as international treaties on fighting transnational organized crime, anti-corruption and anti-torture, and advise leaders of the two countries on politics, investment and socio-economic issues.

Senior Lieutenant General To Lam reiterated that the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam will exert all-out efforts to tighten the traditional friendship between the two peoples and cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the National Security Council of Mongolia.

For his part, Secretary Amarjargal Gansukh thanked Minister Lam and the Ministry of Public Security for the warm reception. He strongly advocated Minister Lam’s suggestions.

He hoped that the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the National Security Council of Mongolia will enhance their cooperation, especially in fighting crimes and terrorism, contributing to cementing the traditional friendship and expanding cooperation between the two countries.
