Ministry of Public Security supports building of 600 houses for poor people in Thanh Hoa

PSNews - The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) in coordinationwith the Provincial Party Committee and the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province held a ceremony on March 21to hand over model houses to local in need of housing and funds for the construction of more houses for poor people in Muong Lat district, Thanh Hoa province.

The ceremony saw the presence of General To Lam, Member of the Politburo and Minister of Public Security, as well as leaders of the MPS, Thanh Hoa provincial local authorities, sponsors and other delegates.

Muong Lat is a northwest border district of Thanh Hoa province with 3,262 poor households, 17.1 times higher than the average poverty rate of the province. Many families in the district face housing difficulties or reside in disaster-prone areas. So they all need new homes.

Realizing the people’s difficulties, the leadership of the MPS coordinated with the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam(Vietcombank) to support the authorities of Muong Lat with VND30 billion to build 600 houses for poor households (each house costs VND 50 million). 

Following the directions of the MPS, the Thanh Hoa provincial police in coordination with relevant units first built nine model houses and will complete the rest by the end of May 2021.

At the ceremony, the MPS in coordination with the Vietnam Social Insurance awarded 600 social insurance books, worth over VND one billion in total, to poor people in Muong Lat district. In addition, Minister To Lam and Mr. Do Trong Hung, Secretary of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, handed over a car to the police of Muong Lat district, two computers to the police of Trung Ly commune, and one television to the Trung Ly Communal People's Committee in Muong Lat district, Thanh Hoa province.

 Immediately after the ceremony, Minister To Lam and the delegates cut the inauguration ribbon of the model house, handed over them to the beneficiaries. They also visited the family of Vang A Cage, a poor Mong ethnic household in Trung Ly commune, Muong Lat district.

 * Earlier, General To Lam led a delegation of the MPS to inspect the issuance of electronic ID cards conducted by the Muong Lat district police at Kham 2Village’s Cultural Hall in Trung Ly Commune, Muong Lat district, Thanh Hoa.
