Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung Dr., chaired the conference.

In the current context, the world  witnesses many large, rapid, complex, unforeseeable changes, posing more diverse threats to every single country’s national security. 

Over the past years, the country has obtained significant achievements in building and safeguarding the Fatherland, but there have also remained weaknesses and shortcomings in addressing newly-arising complicated issues.

In other words, the task of safeguarding the national security has now become harder and more difficult, requiring the relevant agencies and forces to have new thinking as well as to take comprehensive and sychonorous approaches so as to successfully safeguard national security.

During the conference, delegates focused discussion on theoretical basis for the national security safeguarding task in the strategies to protect the Fatherland, evaluating the results of the implementation of the national security safeguarding task, and identifying trends and factors affecting this work, therefore proposing core approaches to enhance the quality of the execution of the task in the coming time.

Earlier, the organizing committee had received 61 high-quality articles from leaders of ministries and branches and prestigious experts and scientists nationwide.

After listening to reports, delegates deeply analyzed issues impacting the national security safeguarding task in the current situation, clarified shortcomings and weaknesses in executing the mission in the past time. 

Delegates also pointed out the causes of the shortcomings, including some officials’ lack of awareness of the mission as well as lacks of policy, legal corridor, collaboration of competent agencies, international cooperation and human resouces.

They then proposed approaches to raise the quality of the implementation of the national security safeguarding tasks in strategies to protect the Fatherland in the new situation.

Concluding the conference, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung thanked delegates for their contributive opinions and ideas, saying that they made significant contributions to the development of the theory of implementation of the national security safeguarding tasks in strategies to protect the Fatherland in the new situation.

The Deputy Minister also requested ministries, branches and localities to strengthen cooperation with the Ministry of Public Security in implementing the task of safeguarding national security in strategies to protect the Fatherland in the coming time.
