MPS takes lead in reorganizing and streamlining the forces for effectiveness

PSNews - The Central Public Security Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security on February 2 held a meeting with former leaders and retired high-ranking officers of the People Public Security Forces on the occasion of the 2018 Lunar New Year festival.

The event saw the attendant of General Le Hong Anh, former Politburo member, former Minister of Public Security; Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Politburo member, Minister of Public Security; deputy ministers of Public Security: Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam, Lieutenant General Bui Van Thanh, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son; former deputy ministers of Public Security: Lieutenant General Vo Thai Hoa, Lieutenant General Vo Viet Thanh, Senior Lieutenant General Bui Quang Ben.

Present at the event were also other former leaders of the Ministry of Public Security and the South Central Security Department and their families; revolution contributors; generations of high-ranking police officers of the Public Security Forces; and representatives from agencies and units of the Ministry of Public Security.

At the event, Minister To Lam briefed delegates on the situation of political security, social order and safety in the country, as well as the achievements of the People Public Security Forces in 2017 and the key tasks of the forces in 2018.

He said that the situations of the world, region and the country saw complex and negative developments, which posed many difficulties and challenges to the People’s Public Security Forces in implementing their assigned tasks in 2017. However, the Public Security Forces overcame all difficulties to excellently fulfill their tasks of ensuring political security and maintaining social order and safety, contributing to creating a peaceful, stable environment for the country’s development.

Minister To Lam then stressed the need to reorganize and streamline the forces for effectiveness and efficiency in the context of the 4.0 Revolution, saying that the Ministry has been entrusted by the Party and State to take the lead in this mission.

The Minister of Public Security underlined that the sound leadership and guidance of the Party and State, good coordination of other relevant ministries and Central agencies and localities, and great supports from the people have been key factors that have helped the forces attain such achievements in protecting national security and maintaining political stability, social order and safety over the year.

Minister To Lam also spoke highly of the contribution and support of senior public security officers who are officially retired but still make important contributions to the cause of protecting the national security and maintaining social order and safety, and to the building of clean and strong Public Security Forces.

He hoped that the senior officers would continue contributing and supporting the Ministry of Public Security in protecting national security, maintaining social order and safety, contributing to the cause of building and protecting the country in upcoming time.
