Deputy Minister of Public Security Nguyen Duy Ngoc on June 12 chaired a meeting with leaders of the Department of Social Order Public Administration, the Traffic Police Department, the Department of Organization and Personnel, and the Department of Communications and Information under the Ministry of Public Security on the disseminating information for the ministry’s major projects.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc emphasized that, there are four major projects now being implemented by the People’s Public Security Forces, namely the National Database on Population Project, the project to mobilize all people to surrender illegally-stored weapons, explosives and combat gears to local authorities and fight against crimes with the use of weapons, the project to post professional police officers to communes, and the project to draft the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety.

The Deputy Minister suggested, while the departments are trying to implement the above-mentioned projects as scheduled, they should popularize their efforts to realize the projects, the need to carry out the projects and their basic contents to the people so that all people could understand and support the Public Security Forces’ projects.

Particularly, the public security units and agencies should also disseminate the amendments and new regulations in the amended Law on Residence.

Furthermore, they should make people understand that the deployment of professional police officers to communal police posts will contribute to strengthening security and social order at the grassroots level while streamlining the organizational structure of the Public Security Forces aimed at effectiveness and efficiency.

As for the project to control the illegal use and store of weapons and explosives, the Deputy Minister requested the departments to encourage the people to strictly follow the laws, which will bring peace and safety for the community.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc asked the units to discuss plans and approaches to effectively disseminate information for the projects, contributing to drawing more supports from the people and the authorities at all levels for the Public Security Forces’ projects.
