Nghe An’s drug crime investigation sub-department receives noble order

PSNews - The Drug-related Crime Investigation Division (PC47) of the Nghe An Provincial Police on March 10 celebrated its 20th Traditional Anniversary Day and received the a Feat of Arms Order of third class.

Leaders of the Nghe An province and the provincial police department also attended the event.

In the past 20 years, PC47 of the Nghe An Provincial Police has overcome numerous difficulties and obstacles and obtained a number of impressive feats of arms, beautifying the glorious history of the Public Security Forces and serving as an “iron fist” and playing a core role in the fight against drug-related crimes.

Since 1997, PC47 has discovered nearly 12,000 cases and arrested more than 15,000 suspects. The force has also seized tons of opium, heroin and synthetic drugs.

At the same time, the unit arrested 150 most wanted drug criminals, including three drug barons in Laos, who led large transnational drug trafficking networks.

Thanks to their achievements, PC47 has been honored by the Party, the State and the Ministry of Public Security with various orders, titles and certificates of merit, including the title “Hero of the People's Armed Forces in in the “Doi Moi” Period.” Two outstanding officers of the division also received the title “Hero of the People's Armed Forces”.

Addressing the event, Standing Vice Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Le Xuan Dai praised the achievements attained by PC47 in their 20-year history.

The provincial leader then urged the drug crime investigation sub-department to maintain and promote their tradition, to make all efforts to overcome any obstacles and reach more and more achievements, deserving the trust and sentiment of the Party, State and people.

Under the authorization of the State President, Mr. Le Xuan Dai handed over the Feat of Arm Order of 3rd class to the staff of the Nghe An provincial PC47.

On this occasion, the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee also awarded 5 individuals for their outstanding achievements while Director of the Nghe An Provincial Police Department awarded 17 individuals in acknowledgement of their contributions to the fight against drug-related crimes.
