As reported, the 79th National Safety Conference opened solemnly on the morning of December 27, in Hanoi.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Minister To Lam stated that the People's Public Security Forces always put themselves under the leadership of the Party and the management of the State, and closely followed the Party’s resolutions and the State’s directives while performing their tasks.

The Public Security Forces, with their strong political determination and high sense of responsibility to the Party, State and people, always tried their best to overcome difficulties and renovate their working methods so as to complete their tasks and achieve the greatest work results.

Over the past year, the Public Security Forces have paid more attention to the grassroots, solving issues early and right from the grassroots, creating a safe and secure environment for people to live and do their business.

Regarding their main tasks assigned by the Party, State and Government, the Public Security Forces have firmly protected national security, basically ensured social order and safety, contributing to preserving national independence, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity and interests of the country, as well as to promoting socio-economic development tasks and foreign relations.

Later, under the chair of Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Nguyen Duy Ngoc,  delegates discussed various issues, including approaches to further consolidate the organizational apparatus of all public security agencies and units for more effectiveness and efficiency, results of the two-year implementation of Project 06 on enhancing application of population, electronic identification and electronic authentication data to national digital transformation in the period of 2021 – 2025 with a vision to 2030.

Peaking at the conference, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, the Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh applauded the great effort and achievements of the Public Security Forces in 2023, saying “The Public Security Forces have achieved better work results in 2023 than last year, which has shown that the Public Security Forces have become more mature and stronger”.

Regarding the forces’ major tasks in the coming time, the Prime Minister underscored that 2024 is the year of "accelerating" the implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, so he requested the People's Public Security Forces to continue their glorious tradition and follow General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s words: "Honor is the most sacred and noble thing" while performing their tasks.

According to him, the People's Public Security Forces should improve the effectiveness and efficiency of law construction and enforcement in terms of protecting national security, ensuring social order and safety.

He instructed, the People's Public Security Forces should focus on taking social and professional measures to prevent crime and ensure order and security but resolutely fight criminals and those who deliberately violating the laws.

The People's Public Security Forces should also make their part to building the rule-of-law state, which belongs to the people, is run by the people and strives for the people while setting an example and taking the lead in digital transformation, administrative reforms and implementation of Project 06 to create the most favorable conditions for businesses and people, as well as to contribute to reducing negatives and corruption.
