Police determined to keep peaceful life in Uncle Ho's homeland

PSNews - Nghe An is a province in the North-Central region of Vietnam, which is Vietnam's largest province by area. Nghe An province borders the East Sea to the east and Laos to the west.

The political security and social order situation of this province is relatively complex because it has an international airport, railways and North-South Highway, and is also home to various ethnic groups.

In 2016, the election of the 12th National Party Congress and the 14th National Assembly and People's Councils at all level for the 2016-2020 tenure took place. The Nghe An Provincial Police well performed their role in advising local leaders to take necessary measures to ensure the absolute safety for this important event as well as to maintain security, social order and safety in the region.

Senior Colonel Nguyen Huu Cau, Director of the Nghe An Provincial Police stated that: "The Party Committee and the Directorate always put on the alert, drastically deploying preventive measures, effectively combating crimes, successfully investigating major criminal, economic and drug cases, arresting dangerous ringleaders, and denying the formation of organized crimes and mafia."

The rate of resolved cases by the force reached 82.3%, exceeding 7.3% over the set target. The force also prosecuted 5 corruption cases with 7 suspects, dealt with 862 cases relating to wrong economic management with 929 suspects; punished 729 cases relating to environmental violation; seized and dumped in over 216 tons of unsafe food; uncovered 1,226 illegal gambling cases with 4,449 suspects.

The Nghe An Provincial Police has promoted an administrative reform, improving the efficiency of its public services. In particular, the force has built and put in use 17 softwares and technology applications, contributing to accelerating the administrative reform and effectively dealing with traffic violations.

The administrative reform in the Nghe An Provincial Police was highly valued and considered the most effective by the Ministry of Public Security among agencies and units of the Public Security Forces.
