Police in Ho Chi Minh City and neighbohoods asked to ensure security and order

Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Nguyen Duy Ngoc chaired a meeting to assess the results of the implementation of the recent anti-crime campaign to ensure order and security during the 2023 Lunar New Year as well as the results of the implementation of Project 06/CP in Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces, on the afternoon of December 2, in Ho Chi Minh City.

After the first 15 days of carrying out the campaign, suppressing crime, police units in Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Tay Ninh, Long An and Tien Giang actively advised local Party committees and authorities on solutions to prevent and control crime and mobilized the entire local political systems to ensure public safety, security, order.

With their proactive and effective preventive measures, local police have made an important contribution to the order and security situation in their managed localities. 

In particular, the local police cleared 1,246 cases of social order violation or 87.8% of the total, arrested 2,278 persons involved, dismatled 35 criminal gangs while investigating 1,038 cases related economic crime and 19 cases involving corruption and abuse of position.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc emphasized that the police units in the seven cities and provinces should attach much importance to taking preventive measures to reduce the crime rate and direct the local police forces to resolutely fight crime during the 2023 Lunar New Year while accelerating the implementation of Project 06/CP, applying relevant contents of Project 06 to the management of their designated areas and subjects.
At the same time, it is necessary to understand the population structure and crime situation in their localities to develop proper, effective anti-crime plans as well as analyze the age, location and time of groups of criminals to find out the specific characteristics of each type of crime so as to take appropriate measures agianst them.
