Police maintain security in land of two World’s Heritages

PSNews-Quang Nam is home to various tourist destinations, namely Hoi An town and My Son Sanctuary, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers’ Statute and Cham Island, attracting over 120 thousands of domestic and international tourists and visitors during the Traditional Tet.

In the year of 2017, Quang Nam will organize various events, including the province’s 20th Anniversary of Reestablishment, 42th Anniversary of Liberation of the province and the 6th Heritage Festival of Quang Nam in various cities and localities of the province.

To succeed in organizing tourism activities and events in the province, the provincial police force and other involved professional units under the MPS is required to make a special effort to maintain local security and order.

The Quang Nam Provincial Police have drawn up and implemented various plans to protect local social safety and security, creating a stable environment and contributing to the province’s socio-economic development.

The organization and force building works have been of great importance, said Senior Colonel Nguyen Viet Loi, Director of the Quang Nam Provincial Police. Every officer and soldier of the Provincial Police Department should devote themselves to serving the people, building on a beautiful image of the police in the people’s hearts and minds.

Additionally, the local police force should focus on their basic professional work while grasping thoroughly the situations to give good and timely advice and recommendations to local authorities at all levels on security and order as well as mobilizing the strength of the entire political system to maintain security and order across the province. The provincial police successfully  investigated 644 cases of offences of social order.

According to the Director of Quang Nam Police, foreign languages and computer science are required as crucial criteria in the force’s recruitment process since Quang Nam attracts a large number of international tourists every year.

Besides, the local police leadership is re-enforcing personnel and equipment grassroots-level units, especially in border areas and islands, which has been the provincial police’s new approach in recent years.

Moreover, the provincial police are also asked to strengthen mass mobilization work so that each police officer should be able to carry out good mass mobilization tactics, grasp thoroughly the situation and promptly report to the higher level in order to deal with all issues of security and social order sucessfully.

Quang Nam Provincial Police have been implementing suitable plans for each area or locality, to facilitate the prevention, promote the role and strength of the entire political system and the people. In particular, in the areas of Hoi An, Dien Ban, the focus is given to combating criminal offenses, thoroughly eliminating the dens of theft, robbery, pick-pocketing or fraud; for areas such as Phuoc Son, Nam Giang, the police forces focus on forest management and protection of mineral resources; for economic zones in the eastern or western area of the province, the police should advice the authority to solve the land clearance, avoid prolonged complaints.

Step by step, Quang Nam Provincial Police have poured various endeavors to overcome all difficulties and fulfil all assigned tasks, deserving the trust and love of the local people and tourists, contributing to maintaining peace in Quang Nam – A destination with two World’s Heritages.
