Public Security Forces ordered to take urgent preventive measures against COVID-19

The Ministry of Public Security issued an official dispatch recently requesting the whole Public Security Forces to take urgent preventive measures against COVID-19.

The dispatch reads:

Currently, the COVID-19 pandemic situation remains complicated in the region and world. In Vietnam, there have been a number of cases of new coronavirus variant infection in the community that may rapidly spread over a large area. Implementing the Prime Minister’s Directive No. 05 dated January 28, 2021 and the direction of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 prevention and control, the MPS leaders request the whole Public Ssecurity Forces to implement immediately the following measures:

1. All public security agencies and units should:

- Instruct all public security officers and soldiers to stay alert against the pandemic and strictly comply with the anti-pandemic instructions of the Party leaders, the Prime Minister, steering committees for COVID-19 prevention and fight at all levels while firmly maintaining the COVID-19-free corridors around the public security agencies and units. 

Heads of security agencies and units are responsible for the implementation of anti-pandemic measures and disease control in their designated areas.

- Continue to implement campaigns to suppress criminals in line with directions of the MPS while ensuring security, social order and safety for the people during the Tet holiday 2021 in the COVID-19 situation.

- Immediately examine the public security officers and soldiers related to COVID-19 positive cases and quickly implement quarantine measures to prevent infection in the People's Public Security Force.

- Follow strictly 5K measures as recommended by the Ministry of Health in the COVID-19 situation, and request all public security officers and soldiers to wear facemasks at offices and take other preventive measures at workplaces.

- Direct grassroots-level police forces to tighten immigration control as well as to manage the residence of foreigners in an effort to prevent the spread of the virus in the country, and quarantine all foreigners who illegally enter the locality.
