Public Security Forces reviews task performance

The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) held a meeting in Hanoi to review results of the task performances of the Public Security Forces in April 2021.

The meeting also saw the presence of the Public Security Central Party Committee’s(PSCPC) members, the MPS’s leaders among representatives from various under-ministerial units and the Hanoipolice.

According to a summary report deliveredby Lt. Gen. To An Xo, Chief of the MPS Office, the People's Public Security Forces actively took measures to ensure security and order in the build-up to the election of the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils for the 2021 – 2026 term.

They also launched intensive campaigns to prevent illegal entry into the country, contributing to effectively controlling the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Public Security Forces also proactively prevented and neutralized all sabotage activities by hostile and reactionary forces while maintaining absolute safety for key establishments and projects, and effectively addressing all emerging social security issues.

The police forces nationwide seriously implemented their working plans and measures to fight crimes, especially mafia-style crimes, “black credit”, illegally debt collection, robbery, andgambling.

In April 2021, the police forcessuccessfully investigated 3,009 criminal cases related to social order and arrested nearly 6,500 people involved. They also destroyed 155 criminal gangs while solving nearly 500 gambling cases with nearly 3,000 people involved.

Particularly, more than 2,200 drug-related cases were handled by the nationwide police. Relating to the cases, they arrested more than 3,000 drug offenders and seized more than 200 kg of heroin, marijuana andthousands of synthetic drug pills.

Regarding the implementation of the National Population Database project and the chip-based ID card issuance Project, 15,660 policeteams and officers were honoredby authorities at all levels for their outstanding achievements in realizing the projects.

Addressing the meeting, Minister To Lam praised the results andefforts of all public security officers and soldiers in the past month.

He emphasized that, in the coming time, all under-ministerial agencies and units as well as provincial-level police departments should thoroughly grasp the security situation whilesafeguarding important political, cultural and social events of the country, especially the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and the People's Councils for the 2021 - 2026term.

The Minister asked the police forces of provinces and cities, especially those with the borderline, to heighten their vigilance and coordinate with other forces to strictly control immigration and effectively prevent illegal entry and exit in order to prevent a breakout of the COVID-19 pandemic in the community.

Regarding crime prevention, police agencies and units should speed up the investigation and prosecution processes of corruption and economic cases following the directions of the Central Steering Committee forAnti-corruption.

Minister To Lam also praised the police force in charge of social order and administrative management for its achievements in implementing the two projects on population database and e-ID card issuance. 

He asked them to exert all-out efforts to complete the projects as scheduled while popularizing good examples of police officers who wholeheartedly serve the people, contributing to promoting the beautiful image of the police force in the hearts of the people.
