Public security health sector asked to improve healthcare for Public Security Forces

PSNews - The Party organization of the Department of Health under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) held its 15th Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term on August 5.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Member of the Public Security Central Party Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security, attended and delivered a speech at the event.

Over the past five years, under the leadership of the Party organization, the Department of Health has successfully completed its tasks of managing health services and environmental protection in the Public Security Forces.

It has advised the MPS’s leadership to issue documents concretizing the guidelines of the Party on health and environmental protection in the Public Security Forces, and professional instructions on environmental protection from the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

Particularly, it has advised the Public Security Central Party Committee to issue a Master Plan on developing the Public Security Health Network from now to 2030.

Under the Party organization, the Department of Health directed the public security health sector to take good care for the health of all public security officers and soldiers. Following its directions, the public security health sector ensured sufficient medicines, medical stuffs, and equipment for the Public Security Forces to fight natural disasters and diseases.

Since 2015, the public security health sector has successfully protected the Public Security Forces from dangerous pandemics, including dengue fever, EBOLA, MERS-CoV, mumps, ZIKA, African swine fever and the most current COVID-19.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Son asked the Party organization to lead the public security health sector to effectively implement the Master Plan on developing the public security health network by 2030.

It should pay due attention to promoting the cooperation with domestic and international medical institutions to continuously improve the qualifications of public security medical workers and raise its capacity for health examination, treatment  of public security officers and soldiers as well as prevention and control of epidemics in the Public Security Forces.
