Rewards for 17 outstanding individuals and groups

Can Tho – in the afternoon of September 21st, Vo Thanh Thong, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Can Tho, presented rewards for 4 groups and 13 people for their merits in specialized cases.

The Chairman awarded Certificate of Merit for 4 groups and 13 people with the bonus of VNĐ 5 million for each group and VNĐ 2 million for each individual.

Senior Colonel Tran Ngoc Hanh, Director of Can Tho Public Security Department, rewarded Commendations for groups and individuals with outstanding achievements in the specialized case.

Earlier in the afternoon of September 9th, Senior Colonel Nguyen Van Thuan, Vice Director of Can Tho Public Security, Head of Can Tho Investigation Police, directed over 130 police officers from different forces to raid simultaneously to 15 illegal lottery spots in Vinh Thanh district, arrested 14 suspects.

Functional forces discovered and seized nearly VNĐ 600 million and other relevant exhibits.

After the incidents, dozens of related suspects surrendered themselves to the police. To date, investigation agencies have prosecuted 16 defendants for organizing gamble and gambling.

In another relevant incident, in the early morning of September 16th, the Investigation Police Office on drug-related crimes (PC47) under the Public Security Department of Can Tho arrested Ho Thanh Tam (47) and his wife, Doan Thi Hanh (42) seized 235 grams of heroin, VNĐ 120 million in cash and many relevant exhibits. Such amount of drug were confessed by the two suspects to be consumed in Vinh Long, Tien Giang and other places such as bars or pubs in Can Tho.
