Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security wishes to get support of Russia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs to develop security industry

Within the framework of his working trip to Russia from May 28th to June 4th, 2024, Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Le Van Tuyen had talks with Russian Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Colonel General Shulika Vitaly Dmitrievich.

At the talks, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen highlighted that the two sides had achieved positive results in implementing agreements reached by the two ministers during the visit to Vietnam of the high-ranking delegation of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs last October.

The guest said, after the visit, the two sides continued promoting delegations exchange at all level, exchanging criminal information, tracking and arresting international wanted fugitives as well as organizing training programs for Vietnamese police officers.

Regarding bilateral cooperation in the coming time, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen suggested that the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs support the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security to train Vietnamese police officers in the fields of their strengths, say UAV suppression, citizen management, foreigner management and fight against transnational organized crimes such as drug trafficking, high-tech crimes and human trafficking.

In addition, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen wished that the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs would further assist Vietnam in developing security industry, and manufacturing equipment, vehicles and logistics for the Vietnamese Public Security Forces.

At the end of the talks, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen expressed his belief that the bilateral relationship between the two ministries will be further strengthened and developed in the coming time for the mutual interests of the two peoples as well as for peace, stability, cooperation and prosperity in the region and the world.

 * During the working trip, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen also visited the Vietnam Embassy in Russia and had a meeting with Ambassador of Vietnam to Russia Dang Minh Khoi, the Embassy’s staff and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Russia.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen briefed the Vietnamese expats on the current situation in the country and the outstanding results of the Public Security Forces in ensuring security and social order.

 Sincerely thanking Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen and the delegation for the visit, Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi gave them some information about the Embassy’s major activities, the situation of the Vietnamese community in Russia as well as prospect for social and political as well as economic and trade cooperation  between the two countries in the coming time.
