Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Deputy Minister of Public Security attended and delivered the opening speech at the event.
The ceremony also saw the attendance of Lieutenant General Nguyen Ngoc Toan, Director of the Department of Party and Political Work and Head of the Organizing Committee, Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh, Deputy Director of the General Department of Sports under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, among other delegates.

The sports event, which lasts from April 24 to 29, aims at promoting physical training and sports movements in the People's Public Security Forces.
This tournament attracted 114 sport delegations with more than 1,300 coaches and athletes from departments and agencies under the MPS and provincial-level police departments nationwide.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh highlighted the importance of physical training, saying that sports and physical exercise help public security officers and soldiers improve their health, contributing to successfully performing all assigned political tasks.

Therefore, the Public Security Central Party Committee and the MPS leadership always pay attention to promoting sports and physical training movements, contributing to augmenting physical and spiritual health for all public security officers and soldiers.
The Deputy Minister also asked the Organizing Committee and participants in the event to raise their sense of responsibility and sportsmanship, thus contributing to the success of the sports event.
The event will last till April 29. Winners of the tournament will be honored at the Sporting House of the MPS.
