"All people protecting national security" movement brings about positive results in Bac Lieu

PSNews - The movement "All people protecting national security" launched by the Bac Lieu Provincial Police Department in 2018 has been promoted in both depth and width.

Having recognized hundreds workers of the Urban Service Center in Bac Lieu City working in the open air along the street as builders, urban infrastructure maintainers, cleaners, park guarders or gardeners, who could easily detect acts of law violations, the Bac Lieu Provincial Police Department advised the Steering Committee 138, and then collaborated with the Urban Service Center to form self-managed groups of urban service workers to maintain public security and order. In April 14th 2016, this model was officially launched with 143 members organized into 7 groups.

Senior Colonel Pham Quang Chung, Director of the Bac Lieu Municipal Police Department said that: "Since this model has been put into operation, the sense of crime prevention and the movement "All people protecting national security" have significantly been improved, contributing positively to ensuring local security and order.

Over the past time, workers of the Urban Service Center haveprovided police with hundreds of pieces of valuable information about security and order situations, including 146 crime reports. They have helped the city’s police to crack down on 8 theft cases, arrest 11 drug-related suspects, and eradicated 14 drug hubs."

For their outstanding achievements in the "All people protecting national security" movement, many local residents have been awarded by the Bac Lieu Provincial People's Committee and the Bac Lieu Provincial Police Department. Some have become typical examples in their community. For example, Mr. Pham Van Ven and Mr. Truong Phuoc Thanh (residing in Bac Lieu City) have many times detected and chased after robbers on the road, and public order disturbing elements.

Other good examples include Mr. Nguyen Quoc Viet, who has been safeguarding security and order in Ward 3 (Bac Lieu City) for nearly 20 years; Ms. Phan Hong Tham (residing in Minh Dieu Commune, Hoa Binh District), who chased after 2 thieves at night; Mr. Ngo Van Phuoc, who bravely rescued people from a fire incident in Ganh Hao town (Dong Hai District); among others.

In 2018, the Director of the Bac Lieu Provincial Police Department awarded over 20 organizations and nearly 200 individuals with outstanding achievements in the movement "All people protecting national security". The Steering Committee 138 in local districts, towns and cities also recognized, praised and awarded hundreds of individuals and organizations for their contributions to crime fighting and denunciation.

According to Senior Colonel Le Tan Toi, Director of the Bac Lieu Provincial Police Department, in order to promote the "All people protecting national security" movement in both depth and width, police units at all levels have closely coordinated with local authorities, organizations and people to promote comprehensive strength of the entire forces and people. Reviewing the emulation movement "For National Security in 2018", the Ministry of Public Security proposed the Prime Minister to present the Bac Lieu Provincial Police Department with an Emulation Flag.
