Can Tho Police successfully maintain local security and order

PSNews - The Can Tho Municipal Police Department on July 3 held a conference to review the working results in June as well as to summarize the intensive campaign against loan-shark crime and the anti-drug action month in 2018.

According to reports at the meeting, the security and order situation in Can Tho City in June remained stable without any sudden negative changes. The local police units have actively advised the local authority to resolve problems related to security and order on time while proactively coordinating with other relevant forces ensured security and safety for key projects and places as well as visits to the city of central leaders.

The local police also deployed force to ensure absolute security for political, social and cultural events held in the areas, such as voters’ meetings with NA deputies, ASEM conference on climate change response, and the National High School Exam 2018.

By the end of the campaign against loan-sharks crime, the Can Tho Police in collaboration with the local authority organized 931 information programs; removed and seized 163,233 leaflets with illegal loan adverts; detected 65 cases with 119 loan-sharks.

In response to the anti-drug month in 2018, the municipal police force has organized 40 law dissemination drives on drug prevention at schools, agencies and enterprises; found 38 drug-related cases, handled 57 suspects, seized 0.3071 grams of heroin, 39.0413 grams of synthetic drugs, 6.3 kg of dry marijuana. The local police force has also prosecuted 17 cases with 23 suspects.

On this occasion, the Can Tho Municipal People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 19 organizations, 45 individuals with their outstanding achievements in the campaigns to prevent and fight crimes in the city.
