CAND Newspaper and donors present computers to rural students

PSNews - The Public Security Newspaper (CAND Newspaper) and family of Mr. Huynh Van Hoang, a veteran residing in Co Do Townlet (Can Tho City) on May 30 presented 5 computers to Thanh Phu 2 Secondary School (Thanh Phu Commune, Co Do District, Can Tho City), supporting local teachers and students in teaching and learning information technology (IT).

Thanh Phu 2 Secondary School located in a remote area of Can Tho City is short of facilities. The school has 15 classes with more than 480 students, but there is no computer lab. Therefore, the students and the teachers faced difficulties when teaching and learning IT and computer subject.

Knowing the difficulties of the teachers and students of Thanh Phu 2 Secondary School, Mr. Huynh Van Hoang, a veteran residing in Co Do town (Can Tho City) and his son, Mr. Huynh Ngoc Minh Tuan, donated 25 million VND and asked the CAND Newspaper to hand over 5 computers to the school.

At the handover ceremony, Mr. Huynh Ngoc Minh Tuan said that: "In the digital age of 4.0 technology, the lack of equipment in school is a huge disadvantage of rural students. My family in collaboration with the CAND Newspapers Representative Office in Can Tho presented 5 computer sets to the school, which hopefully can meet the needs of teachers and students of Thanh Phu 2 Secondary School."

Mr. Vo Van Ngoi, Headmaster of Thanh Phu 2 Secondary School extended thanks to the CAND Newspaper and donors for their supports, and said that the teachers and students were touched to receive the new 5 computers, which will effectively support them in teaching and learning as well as renovating new teaching methods and gaining more knowledge.

"Our wish has now come true, and this is a big motivation for the school to fulfill its tasks of teaching and learning. The computer lab will be used for computer science subject, IT and online mathematics contests, etc", he said.
