CAND Newspaper meets its collaborators in Central region

PSNews - The Public Security Newspaper (CAND Newspaper) on February 1 held a cozy meeting to welcome the Lunar New Year 2018 and to thank all agencies, units and friends for their supports for the newspaper.

Major General Pham Van Mien, Editor-in-Chief of the CAND Newspaper said that 2017 was a very eventful year for the press as well as for the CAND Newspaper. One of the most prominent events in Da Nang - the APEC High-level Week - was widely disseminated by the CAND Newspaper with informative articles and features.

Activities of the Public Security Forces to ensure security and order were reflected lively by the CAND Newspaper, heightening the beautiful image of the public security officers in overcoming obstacles to fulfill their assigned tasks in any circumstances.

In 2017, under the direction of the Central Committee's Commission for Information and Education, the Ministry of Information and Communications as well as the leadership of the Central Public Security Party Committee and the General Department of Politics, together with the help from local authorities and collaborators, the CAND Newspaper successfully fulfilled its tasks. All of its 6 publications and online editions continue developing while avoiding any mistakes on articles.

Along with the online Vietnamese edition and the online English edition, the CAND Newspaper officially launched its Online Chinese edition at the end of January 2018, marking a milestones of the development of the CAND Newspaper in the context of international integration, and better serving the task of information and dissemination.

The CAND Newspaper’s Party Committee is recognized as a clean and strong Party organization. The Newspaper continued to receive the “Excellent Unit in Emulation” Flag from the Ministry of Public Security. Many journalists of the Newspaper won prizes at press contests of local, ministerial and national levels.

In 2017, thanked to the cooperation of kind donors and enterprises, the CAND Newspaper has raised nearly 30 billion VND of fund for social charitable activities. Of the figure, the office of the Newspaper for the central region has mobilized nearly 6 billion VND.

All the meaningful gifts donated by kind donors were handed over by the CAND Newspaper to policy beneficiary or needy households, wounded police officers and public security martyrs’ families. In the single program "Tet for the poor 2018", the CAND Newspaper have handed 8 billion VND to poor needy people across the country.

Major General Pham Van Mien thanked the local authorities and the police force in central provinces, as well as all writers and journalists, kind donors for their supports to the social charitable activities of the CAND Newspaper in central regions, including Da Nang city.

He hoped that the CAND Newspaper will continue to receive more supports from the collaborators and kind donors inside and outside the public security forces.

Speaking at the event, on behalf of the Party Committee, Director of the Da Nang Municipal Police and the police forces in central provinces, Senior Colonel Le Thanh Hai, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Municipal Police extended the warmest thanks to the CAND Newspaper for its information and dissemination on activities and events of the Da Nang Police, and other activities in supporting needy police officers and in other social charitable and law dissemination activities.

At the meeting, the permanent office of the CAND Newspaper in the central region was awarded a Certificate of Merit from Director of the Da Nang Municipal Police, Certificates of Merit from the police force of Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Thua Thien Hue and Quang Tri provinces for their outstanding achievements in information and dissemination to ensure security and order, and force building.
