Da Nang striving to take lead in implementing Project 06

PSNews - The Government's Project 06 Working Group, led by the Standing Deputy of the Government's Project 06 Working Group and Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Nguyen Duy Ngoc, had a working session on the afternoon of June 25 with Da Nang city’s Steering Committee for the implementation of Project 06/CP, assessing results of the implementation of Project 06 in the city.

The Government’s Project 06 is the abbreviation of the project launched by the Government on enhancing the application of population data, identification and electronic authentication in national digital transformation for the period of 2022-2025, with a vision toward 2030.

Head of the Da Nang City Delegation of the National Assembly and Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang co-chaired the working session, which was also participated in by leaders of the city’s departments, agencies and sectors.

At the meeting, leaders of city departments and branches and members of the working group discussed a number of issues regarding the construction and use of the city's data warehouse, the data connection and sharing between industries, the legal regulations to implement Project No. 06 as well as the process of guiding local agencies and branches to transform from paper documents to electronic ones, the grant of chip-based ID cards and electronic identification to citizens in the city.

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the Da Nang Municipal Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang requested that leaders of the Da Nang Municipal People's Committee, local agencies, branches and especially the local police force should see it as one of the main tasks of the city at the present time.

According to Secretary Nguyen Van Quang, the city also faces various difficulties and obstacles in implementing Project 06, such as obsolete information technology infrastructure and lack of data connection.

Yet, he still believes that Da Nang city will become one of the localities taking the lead in the implementation of Project 06 in the coming time.

Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang Municipal Party Committee and Chairman of the Da Nang Municipal People's Committee Le Trung Chinh committed that Da Nang city will take strong measures to effectively implement Project 06, build good digital infrastructure, ensure security and safety of information, update and connect information and data in a regular and timely manner.

Concluding the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc suggested that the city’s Project 06 Working Group should guide local agencies and branches toward the implementation of the project and find effective ways to invest in infrastructure, equipment, software, data and online public service web portals while improving the efficiency of residence management, city management, management of suspicious subjects, and crime prevention and control in the city.

The deputy minister also suggested that Da Nang city needs to review and revise the roadmap, quickly address the delayed jobs, promptly remove difficulties and obstacles to speed up the implementation so that the local people can soon benefit from Project 06.
