Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam checks task performance of Dong Thap police

PSNews - Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam, Deputy Minister of Public Security on November 4 led a delegation of the Ministry of Public Security to work with the Dong Thap Provincial Police Department, reviewing the task performance of the local police forces over the past time.

A report delivered by Senior Colonel Nguyen Van Hieu, Director of the Dong Thap Provincial Police Department read that, over the past time, the local police forces have successfully fulfilled their assigned tasks, and advised the local authorities and the Ministry of Public Security on the work of ensuring security and order on the Dong Thap - Pray Veng (Cambodia) borderline.

The local police forces also maintained the close relations and cooperation with the Cambodian authorities and other armed forces on the other side of the borderline in dealing with activities by hostile forces. 

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam spoke highly of the Dong Thap provincial police forces’ achievements over the past time.

Regarding their major missions in the time to come, Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam urged the Dong Thap Provincial Police take the initiative in grasping situational developments and emerging issues inside and outside the province so as to advice the local Party committees and local authorities to handle them in a timely, effective manner.

Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam asked the unit to effectively implement plans to suppress crimes, especially cross-border smuggling and drug-related crime, while focusing on building a strong and clean Party organization and strong local police force.

The Deputy Minister also urged the local police forces to pay attention to professional and technical affairs as well as the fight against cybercrime. They should also promote coordination with local departments, branches and armed forces to ensure border security while maintaining the close friendship and cooperation with Cambodia.
