Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang inspects security protection for upcoming NA, People's Council election

Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security and Head of the Subcommittee on Security and Order for the election of the 15th National Assembly (NA) and the People's Councils at all levels for the 2021 - 2026 term (the Subcommittee) chaired an online meeting on May 5 with the police departments of 8 provinces and cities.

8 provinces and cities includes Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Ha Nam.

At the meeting, leaders of the local police departments briefed the Deputy Minister on the local situation and their work of ensuring security for the election.

According to the reports, over the past time, the police forces of the 8 provinces and cities have closely followed the instructions of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) and the Subcommittee and actively roll out comprehensive plans to ensure security for the upcoming election.

The delegates at the event listened to the difficulties and problems faced by the local police forces over the past time and suggested solutions to the issues.

Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang recognized the initial results of the local police forces in maintaining security for the election, saying that they have been on the right track.

The Deputy Minister added that as there are only a few days to go before the election, the local police forces should continue to seriously follow the directives and effectively realize the plans of their upper levels on safeguarding the election. They should urgently revise and complete plans in response to possible security-related situations during the election.

The police of the provinces and cities with islands, where the election will take place ahead of the scheduled election day, should proactively take measures to ensure security and social order in their localities.

The Deputy Minister also emphasized that the local police should deploy drastic measures to prevent and control theCOVID-19 pandemic while coordinating with relevant functional forces to maintain security and safety, creating the most favorable conditions for the election.
