Senior Colonel Huynh Tri Phuong, Warden of Dinh Thanh Prison, briefed the Deputy Minister and other delegates on the measures that the prison had taken to prevent and combat the pandemic.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung appreciated the efforts and results of the prison’s staff in the prevention and fighting of the pandemic.
He also highlighted that pandemic prevention measures in detention facilities should be stricter than other areas.
Vocational training and production activities in the prison should be halted. He noted that officers from investigation agencies, public procurators and lawyers, who come to the prison for work, must have a certificate of vaccination against COVID-19 or testing results negative for the virus.
All officers and soldiers of the prison must stay at the unit. Those returning to the unit from other places should be tested for COVID-19 and quarantined for 21 days.
The prison should establish a field hospital to isolate and treat possible infection cases. They should take measures to ensure security and safety, and coordinate with local authorities and functional agencies and units in pandemic prevention and combat.
