Hanoi Police hands over gratitude house to family of fallen public security officer

PSNews – The Hanoi Municipal Police on July 11th held an inauguration and handed over a gratitude house to the family of fallen police officer Nguyen Van Tiep in Duc Thang ward, Bac Tu Liem district, Hanoi.

Public security martyr Nguyen Van Tiep was born in An Chan commune, Nam Sach district, Hai Duong province. He joined the revolution in 1946, was admitted to the Communist Party of Vietnam and became a head of the An Chau commune information dissemination team a year later. In 1948, comrade Nguyen Van Tiep was assigned to work at the Hai Phong Municipal Police.

Unfortunately, he was arrested by the enemy after the police office base was destroyed. He  was shot by the enemy on February 10th, 1949.

Martyr Nguyen Van Tiep’s only son named Nguyen Van Tien is now a retired, and he resides in Duc Thang ward, Bac Tu Liem district, Hanoi. Tien and his family have lived in a 24square meter dilapidated house for years.

In January 2017, the Hanoi Municipal Police decided to support Nguyen Van Tien's family in building a new house, as a way to pay deep gratitude of the Party, State and people to those who have made great sacrifices for the cause of national liberation, protection and building.

Senior Colonel Doan Ngoc Hung, Deputy Director of Hanoi Municipal Police affirmed that over the past years, the Party Committee and Directorate of the Hanoi Municipal Police always take special care of families of wounded soldiers and martyrs. The Hanoi Municipal Police has carried out many meaningful and humane activities to contribute to support public security officers and soldiers’ families, helping them keep their mind on their work and promoting the beautiful image of police officers in the heart of local people.

Same day, Senior Colonel Doan Ngoc Hung and a working mission of the Hanoi Municipal Police, and Bac Tu Liem District Police visited and presented gifts to Tran Thi Bich, a needy martyr's family.  Senior Colonel Hung inquired after the family members and wished them to continue promoting the family’s tradition and educate next generations to be useful citizens.
