Hanoi police hold its Party Congress

PSNews - The Party organization of the Hanoi municipal police held its 28th Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term on August 17.

    The event was attended by General To Lam, Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Public Security Central Party Committee and Minister of Public Security, and Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue, Member of the Politburo and Secretary of the Hanoi Municipal Party Committee.

    The draft political report at the Congress read that, in the last term, the Hanoi police Party organization thoroughly gasped the situation and advised its upper-level Party Committees in time to issue appropriate guidelines and directions on ensuring security and social order in the city.

    Meanwhile, it led the municipal police forces to firmly protect local security, maintain social order and safety, and safeguard all important political events organized in Hanoi. In the last term, the number of criminal cases was reduced by 19% while the numbers of traffic incidents, traffic fatalities and traffic injuries sharply reduced, contributing to creating a stable and secure environment for socio-economic development of the Capital.

    It also promoted mass mobilization and the “All people protect national security” movement at the grassroots levels with creative and practical forms and contents.

    At the event, Minister To Lam and Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue agreed that the Hanoi police Party organization has made significant contributions to the socio-economic development of the Capital over the past five years.

    Regarding its missions in the next term, Minister To Lam urged the Party organization to concretize the guidelines and policies of the Party, the State, the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Hanoi Party Committee and authorities into its working plans. Particularly, it should take measures to ensure safety for the organization of the Hanoi Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term in preparation for the 13th National Party Congress.

    The Minister asked the Party organization to direct the city’s police to prevent and control crimes, especially inter-provincial and transnational organized crimes. It should crack down on all drug-related criminal rings while strengthening the management of residence of foreigners in the Capital. Furthermore, traffic order, fire safety and environmental protection in the city should be ensured.

    Regarding its Party and force building work, Minister Lam requested the Hanoi police Party organization to improve its leadership and combat capacity while promoting political competences and moral qualities of its Party members.

    At the Congress, the delegates elected the Party Executive Committee for the next term and a delegation to attend the upcoming 17th Party Congress of Hanoi.
