HCMC establishes Tan Son Nhat International Airport Police Station

PSNews - The Ho Chi Minh Municipal Police on January 31 held a ceremony to open the Tan Son Nhat Airport Police Station, a unit under the Tan Binh District Police, Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC).

Senior Colonel Pham Ngoc Khuong, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh Municipal Police, presiding over the ceremony, said that the Tan Son Nhat Airport Police Station is located in Ward No.2 of Tan Binh district.

Each day, there are about 550 flights come and go from the airport. During holidays or Tet season, there are about 700 flights with more than 100,000 passengers.

In addition, the airport also welcomes leaders of the Party and State as well as international delegations and top leaders of many countries on their visits to HCMC and southern provinces and cities.

The airport also sees baggage losses, drug transportation, and illegal import and export of prohibited goods (with approximately 100 case per year), the establishment of the Police Station will contribute to ensuring security and order as well as the aviation security in the airport.

The Tan Son Nhat Airport Police Station is in charge of protecting security and order in the area, promoting the movement "All people protecting national security", strengthening security forces of agencies and enterprises working in the airport.

The police station also receives reports on criminal cases and other law offences and handle them in line with the laws regulations while conducting patrol and maintaining order and traffic safety in the area.

The police station in Tan Son Nhat International Airport officially came into operation on the opening date and the headquarters is temporarily located at the domestic terminal.
