According Mr. Khang A Chua, Vice Chairman of the Tram Tau District People’s Committee, the District Police Station mobilized its police officers and soldiers to transport construction materials and join locals in building houses for local households in need, promptly helping them stabilize their lives.
Colonel Lo Trung Kien, Head of the Tram Tau District Police said that floods and landslides often occur during the seasonal rain, making it even more difficult for the police and people to build houses for needy families.
To overcome the difficulty, construction materials were mainly transported upward in streams and on mountainsides by the Tram Tau police and local public servants and youth members.
Another difficulty is that quite a few needy families in Tram Tau District live in remote difficultly-accessed areas, which are not connected to telecommunication and electricity networks. With their great effort, the local forces, including the police, tried their best to complete the project on time.
Ms. Giang Thi Chu, a resident of Mo Nhang village, Tram Tau Commune said that her 10-member family used to live in a shanty house and got unstable incomes. Her husband has a chronic illness. When she received a new nice home from local police officers, she was so happy. With the new home funded by the MPS, her family has more motivation to build a new better life.
According to Senior Colonel Dang Hong Duc, Director of the Yen Bai Provincial Police Department, Yen Bai is still a poor locality with Tram Tau District – one of the poorest districts in the country.
Recognizing the local situation and based on the proposal of the local Police Department’s Party Committee, the Yen Bai Provincial People’s Committee developed the project of “Building homes for needy people in Tram Tau District, Yen Bai Province in 2021” with a support from the MPS.
The Yen Bai Police Department, which was assigned to manage the project, actively coordinated with local agencies, organizations and the People's Committee of Tram Tau district to implement the project. The unit also collaborated with the Department of Logistics under the MPS to select the builder.
Mr. Trang A Ho, Chairman of the Tram Tau District People’s Committee stressed that the MPS-funded project to build homes for local households in need has benefited a number of local families with housing difficulty and effectively responded to the national movement “Join hands for the poor and Do not leave anyone behind.”
