Khanh Hoa Police ensure security and safety for tourists

PSNews - More than 5 million visitors, including 1 million foreigner tourists, have arrived in Khanh Hoa in 2016 for tours, to work or/and live there.

The Khanh Hoa Provincial Police have made its part to the achievement of the tourist sector.

During the year, the provincial police were seen as active in directing local police units at all levels to deploy comprehensive measures to maintain social security, order and safety across the province. The provincial police also coordinated closely with relevant agencies and branches, especially the tourism sector, in ensuring order and safety for tourists, tourism activities and tourism attractions, creasing a healthy environment for local tourism development.

For their achievements, in the summarization of the 'For National Security'' movement in 2016, the Ministry of Public Security has nominated the Khanh Hoa Provincial Police as a candidate unit to receive the Emulation Flag from the Prime Minister.

Senior Colonel Nguyen Khac Cuong, Director of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Police said, under the guidance of the Central Public Security Party Committee and Ministry of Public Security, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee, and with the close collaboration of local agencies, branches and organizations, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Police have overcome various obstacles to successfully fulfill the assigned missions, ensuring political security, order and social safety in the province, contributing to local socio-economic development.

As Khanh Hoa is one of the country’s famous tourist destinations, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Police suggested forming a Tourism Development Steering Committee led by the Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, in order to promote a sustainable, modern, friendly tourism environment.

Besides, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Police directed its subordinate police units to strengthen the State management of security and social order in the province as well as quickly resolve any cases of crime or accidents related to tourists, especially foreigners.

The Khanh Hoa Provincial Police also opened many "peak" campaigns against organized crimes, robberies and burglaries; built a website to declare resident permits and shaped  a database to well manage the residence of foreign tourists; created a Facebook page to popularize new methods and tricks of criminals so as to warn locals and tourists against crimes. The Facebook page will also serve as a communication channel for locals and tourists to report crimes and criminals.

In 2016, Khanh Hoa Police installed in 100 security cameras in high-risk locations in Nha Trang city in order to detect and stamp out possible crimes and other law offences on time.

The provincial police force also coordinated with other local departments and branches to open the training course ''Tourism security'' for more than 500 people who worked for local tourism enterprises.

During 2016, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Police has organized several irregular inspections of the implementation of the regulations in 65 travel companies, and fined nearly 400 million VND for their offences as well as cancelled 11 foreigners’ visas.

With the outstanding achievements in 2016, many organizations and individuals of the Khanh Hoa police force have been awarded And the Khanh Hoa Provincial Police Department has been nominated by Emulation Group 7 and the Ministry of Public Security as a candidate to receive the Emulation Flag from the Prime Minister.
