Kien Giang police call for close coordination with police forces of other localities

PSNews – The Kien Giang Provincial Police Department on May 29 held a conference in Phu Quoc island district to roll out a plan to promote coordination among the criminal police units in provinces and cities on crime prevention and fight.

Speaking at the event, Senior Colonel Luu Thanh Tin, Deputy Director of the Kien Giang Police Department said that, over the past time, the security and order situation in Phu Quoc district has been very complicated, especially when the National Assembly was discussing and approving the Draft Law on Special Administrative-Economic Zones.

Many bad subjects from other provinces and cities across the country came to Phu Quoc, and collaborated with local subjects to form and run protection, loan-shark and illegal debt collection cliques; provoke illegal land disputes and illegally take possession of land; commit robbery, fraud and murder, which caused public worries and anxieties.

Against this backdrop, the Party Committee and the Directorate of the Kien Giang Provincial Police directed professional offices and Phu Quoc District Police to take different measures to fight against crimes. Their efforts brought about initial positive results, curbing crimes and contributing to the socio-economic development, especially tourism of Phu Quoc.

In order to effectively prevent and fight against criminal rings in Phu Quoc area in the coming time, delegates at the conference suggested promoting coordination among criminal police units of provinces and cities.

Senior Colonel Luu Thanh Tin said, “To meet this end, it is necessary to foster close coordination between the Kien Giang Provincial Police Department and other municipal and provincial police units, implement synchronously professional measures, proactively grasp the situation, and effectively control crimes, contributing to stabilizing the security and order situation, serving socio-economic development and tourism in Phu Quoc.
