Leader of MPS works with Da Nang Police

PSNews – Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security on June 8 held a working session with the Da Nang Municipal Police Department and Fire Police Force to review the results of the forces’ task performances in the first six months, and roll out the key missions for the second half of the year.

The meeting saw the presence of Mr. Ho Ky Minh, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang Municipal People’s Committee, and representatives of relevant agencies under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS).

According to the report presented by Senior Colonel Nguyen Thanh Hai, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Municipal Police Department, the local police force has strictly followed the directions and resolutions of the Party and the State on security and order issues, especially Directive No.46 of the Politburo on strengthening the Party’s leadership in ensuring security and order in the new situation, over the past time.

Meanwhile, the task of preventing and fighting crimes relating to social order was also intensified. In the first six months of 2018, the Da Nang police force has successfully investigated 198 out of 230 cases, reaching 86.1%, up by 5.6% from the same period of 2017.

In the fire prevention, fighting and rescue mission, the Da Nang Municipal Fire Police has conducted over 1,700 regular inspections over local business establishments, buildings and apartments.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son hailed Da Nang city as a leading locality in ensuring and maintaining security and order and traffic safety. He asked Mr. Ho Ky Minh, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang Municipal People’s Committee and other local leaders to further support the local police forces.

Regarding the city’s fire prevention, fighting and rescue work in the second half of this year, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son asked the Da Nang Fire Police to focus on taking fire prevention measures, strengthening fire safety regulation dissemination and inspecting the areas with high risk of fire and explosions such as skyscrapers, markets, business establishments, shopping malls to develop suitable fire prevention plans.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son asked the Immigration Department in collaboration with the Immigration Police Division of Da Nang to complete the regulations of managing foreigners with temporary resident permit granted online, in order to prevent foreigners from entering and committing offences in Vietnam.

The Deputy Minister also urged the Da Nang Police to continue to actively grasp the situation; detect, prevent and fight any conspiracies and activities of hostile and reactionary forces; strengthen security protection; crack down on crimes and increase the rate of successful investigation into criminal cases, especially serious and extremely serious cases.

Regarding the renovation and streamline direction toward the public security apparatus in the coming time, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son stated that the reform would improve the fighting power and the effectiveness of the Public Security Forces in the future.
