Minister of Public Security pays visit to Slovakia

PSNews - A high-ranking delegation of the Ministry of Public Security, led by its Minister, Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, member of the Politburo has left Belarus for Slovakia, starting an official visit to the country at the invitation of Slovakia Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Internal Affair Robert Kalinak.

Minister To Lam and delegation on March 6th paid a courtesy visit to Slovakia Prime Minister Robert Fico, and signed a cooperation deal in prevention and fight against crimes between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and Slovakian Ministry of Internal Affair.

At the meeting, Prime Minister Robert Fico welcomed and highly valued the visit to Slovakia of Minister To Lam and the high-ranking delegation. He said that the visit will contribute to strengthening the traditional friendship between two countries and between Slovakian law enforcement agencies with the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security.

Prime Minister Robert Fico highly appreciated the Vietnamese achievements over the past time in politics, defense, security, economics, investment, culture and education; and he hoped that security cooperation between the two nations will continue playing its important role in the bilateral relations and bringing about efficiency and practical outcomes.

The Prime Minister asked Minister To Lam to convey his greetings and regards to Vietnamese leaders and expressed his hope to received Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc in Slovakia in 2017.

Minister To Lam, for his part, thanked Prime Minister Robert Fico for the reception and conveyed the greetings and regards from Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and other Vietnamese leaders to the Slovakian Prime Minister.

Minister To Lam highly applauded the achievements that the Slovakian Government and people have obtained in national development and integration.

He stressed that the Vietnamese Government and people are always deeply grateful to the Government and people of Slovakia for their valuable supports to Vietnam during the war as well as in current national construction and development.

Minister To Lam expressed his pleasure over positive developments in the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Slovakia. He hoped that Prime Minister Robert Fico will continuously direct Slovakian law enforcement agencies to promote cooperation with the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security to effectively prevent and fight crimes, and to firmly protect national security and social order of each country, contributing to strengthening and developing Vietnam-Slovakia ties.

On the same day, Minister To Lam and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Internal Affair Robert Kalinak signed a cooperation deal on prevention and fight against crimes between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and Slovakian Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Earlier at the talks between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security's delegation and Slovakian Ministry of Internal Affairs, the two side informed each other on international issues of mutual concern and the security and order situation in each country. They also reviewed the results of bilateral cooperation in recent years and discussed measures to strengthen bilateral ties and cooperation in the coming time.

The two sides also agreed to strengthen exchanging criminal information; to cooperate closely in preventing and fighting crimes particularly organized crimes, transnational crimes, international terrorism, human trafficking, illegal migration, hi-tech crimes and drug related crimes.

Within the framework of the visit, Minister To Lam and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Internal Affair Robert Kalinak visited the Rapid Response and Counter Terrorism Training Center and witnessed assumed scenarios in which local forces rescued kidnapped hostages, fighting criminals, fighting fire and saving victims in incidents.
