Deputy Minister Lieutenant General Nguyen Duy Ngoc attended and delivered a keynote speech at the meeting.
In a summary report of the 10-year implementation of Directive No.2, Director of the Institute of Criminal Science Major General Nguyen Tien Nam stated, since 2012, the criminal technology force has been organized into three levels from the central to local ones, meeting the requirements for tasks of the Public Security Forces.
Criminal science and technology has been adjusted by a relatively complete system of legal documents, creating a solid legal framework for the application of criminal science and technology in the fields of crime scene examination, autopsies, medical examination and forensic examination as well as in technical measures to prevent and combat crime.
At the conference, delegates discussed different aspects of criminal science such as the relationship between the criminal police force and the criminal science and technology force in the fight against crime, the construction and improvement of the legal system as a legal basis for the criminal science and technology force to work effectively and efficiently, the current criminal science and technology situation at the district-level police as well as difficulties, problems and lessons learned from running the model of criminal science and technology teams at the district-level police station.
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc acknowledged the effort of the criminal science and technology force and the police of units in the implementation of Directive No.2.
Regarding the major tasks that need to be fulfilled in the coming time, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc requested police units complete regulations on the organizational structure, functions, tasks and activities of the criminal science and technology force so as to meets the requirements for tasks of the entire forces while stepping up research and development of theory, application of science and technology to serve investigation of criminal cases and expanding international cooperation in criminal science.
