Mobile Police equips scanning system to detect explosives

PSNews- The Mobile Police Regiment of Hanoi City Police launched a training course on November 12th to improve the knowledge of operation, use, and maintenance of  new generation X-ray screening system (EAS) Rapiscan 618 XR for security monitoring and check. 

Addressing the training course, Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Me, Chief of the Mobile Police Regiment emphasized, the training course aimed to provide officers and soldiers with additional useful knowledge of operation, use, maintenance of the new generation EAS, so as to better meet the requirements of tasks in the current context.

Accordingly, the course focused on training the basic principles and operation and use of scanners.

Over last few years, the mobile police regiment, the Hanoi City Police has been one of the units involved in the protection of important political, economic, cultural, social events in the capital city. 

To improve its work efficiency, the regiment was equipped with various types of weapons, supporting tools, modern vehicles for its operations.

These include the new generation machine Rapiscan 618 XR with modern features much better than the existing machines. For example, the scanners can detect explosive materials on the screening by highlighting the suspicious materials on the X-ray pictures. It's also able to detect drugs when using the warning scanning mode on X-ray images.

Structured with more than 13 image processing tools and several automatic detecting functions, the software would help the operator detect unstandardized items with exact results.

Also, there are 3 model ports including the main port and two supporting raster ports in the front and back. Besides detecting metal objects, it also detect semiconductors such as sim cards, USBs , listening devices, recording divides, cameras.
