MPS committed to ensuring security and order in the last months of 2018

PSNews - The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on November 6 held a conference to review its task performance in October and roll out its missions in November 2018. Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Politburo's member, Minister of Public Security chaired the event.

The conference also saw the presence of Senior Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security and other members of the Central Party Committee of Public Security.

At the conference, Major General Luong Tam Quang, Director of the Ministry of Public Security’s Office briefed the participants on the tasks performance of the Public Security Forces in October and proposed some missions in November 2018. Over the past month, the Central Party Committee of Public Security and leaders of the MPS have directed the Public Security Forces to effectively implement the guidelines of the Party, the State and the Government on socio-economic, defense and security.

All public security agencies and units have well implemented their function of advising the higher level authorities on approaches to respond to security and order issues while intensifying the coordination with other ministries, branches, as well as the local Party committees and authorities, and successfully fulfilling of the MPS’s working plans for the 4th quarter and October, contributing to ensuring security for the country's political, economic, cultural and external events.

Meanwhile, leaders of the MPS regularly visited and checked the performances of various local police departments, and gave direct instructions to them to perfect their organizational structures and to deploy their tasks of ensuring security and order in the localities. Leaders of the MPS also held meetings with voters and answered their questions on security and order issues.

In October, 9,658 public security units and individuals were awarded by authorities at all levels, and 61 units and one individual were fortuitously awarded for their outstanding achievements by the MPS.

Speaking at the conference, Minister To Lam praised the great efforts of all public security agencies and units to overcome difficulties and successfully complete their October tasks. He also asked the public security agencies and units to promote their achievements in October and continue to effectively implement guidelines and policies of the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, the Government as well as directions of the leadership of the MPS on security and order affairs while closely following and successfully fulfilling the 2018 working plans in 2018.

Minister To Lam urged the public security agencies and units to continue to ensure absolute safety and security for all activities of leaders of the Party, the State, as well as for important events, targets and projects; well implement the working plans to ensure security and order; and immediately investigate the cases that the Central Steering Committee on Corruption Prevention has asked to do in 2018.

The public security agencies and units at all levels should also take comprehensive measures to prevent and fight crimes, especially drug-related crimes, organized crimes, child abuse, while stamping out criminal gangs with weapons and explosives and focusing on economic crimes. They were also asked to ensure traffic safety and public order, prevent fire and explosion, be ready to perform rescue missions, and strengthen the management and reeducation of prisoners.

The Minister also urged to speed up the process of reorganizing the public security apparatus and personnel work at all agencies and units. Leaders of all agencies and units should intensify political and ideological education for police officers and soldiers while successfully applying the public security regulations in their agencies and units.

He also stressed that, sectors of Party and political work and communications of the public security forces should closely collaborate with agencies and units to highlight the results of ensuring security and order and promote good examples in the society.
